Preferences is a configuration section in OfficePortal found under Settings > Payroll Settings > General Settings > Preferences. It gives HR admins and payroll managers control over key employee-facing payroll declarations and submission windows.
Preferences in OfficePortal covers four major areas:
Flexible Benefit Plan (FBP) – Allows employees to modify their salary components and structure their own CTC.
- Income Tax Deduction – Configure how income tax is calculated and deducted from employee salaries.
- Proof of Investments – Manage the window for employees to submit their investment declaration documents.
- Reimbursement Claims – Control the period during which employees can raise and submit expense reimbursement requests.
Each of these settings can be individually configured based on your organisation’s payroll calendar, giving you the flexibility to open and close declaration windows at the right time, keeping payroll processing accurate, compliant, and on schedule.
