Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a New Shift
Navigate to the Shifts Section:
Go to the Shifts section in the Attendance Tracker.
Click on Add New to create a new shift.
Basic Settings: #
Enter the Shift Name.
Provide the Start Time and End Time. The system will automatically calculate and display the Shift Duration in the respective column.
Shift Details:
Set the Start Date and End Date for the shift.
Specify the People Required if necessary.
Choose a Shift Color for easy identification.
Add a Work Area Name if applicable.
Select the Locations where the shift will apply. For example, if the shift is specific to employees at the London branch, select London. You can select multiple locations or create a new location if it is not available in the list.
Department and Pay Settings:
Choose the applicable Department, if required.
Select the Pay Calculation Type (“Per Day” or “Per Hour”).
Define the Minimum Hours required for a full day and a half day. For instance:
Full Day: 9 hours (with a tolerance of 30 minutes).
Half Day: 5 hours (with a tolerance of 10 minutes).
Recurrence and Weekend Settings:
Select the Recurrence Pattern (“Daily” or “Weekly”).
Configure the Weekend Definition to follow either the Calendar Settings or Shift Settings.
If “Weekly” recurrence is selected, specify the shift days and the Number of People Required. The days you select will be treated as working days, while the others will be marked as off.

Advanced Settings: #
Enable the Grace Period Policy if required. Define policy failure conditions, such as:
First Check-in Late By.
Last Check-out Early By.
Working Hours Less Than.
You can set all three rules. If even one of the rules is violated by the employee, it will be considered a violation.
At least one rule must be set to enable the grace period. Specify the number of failures that qualify for action. For example:
“Every 1 in a week” or adjust to suit your company’s policies.
Define the number of days to be deducted for violations and specify the Automatic Deduction From if needed.
Notifications:
Enable notifications for employees exceeding the grace period or violating policies.
Set reminders for employees before or after the shift. For example:
Check-in Reminder: 1 hour before the shift starts.
Check-out Reminder: 10 minutes after the shift ends.
Configure notifications for Reporting Managers regarding employee absences or missed check-ins. For instance:
Notify the manager 10 minutes after the shift starts.
